About eatBute

eatBute is organised and promoted by Mount Stuart Trust.

eatBute is a celebration of fresh, seasonal and locally produced food. Now an annual event in the Island's calendar, it showcases the finest produce from Bute and the surrounding areas of Argyll, as well as showing the importance of eating food that is good, clean and fair - in line with the values of ‘Slow Food'.

About Mount Stuart

Mount Stuart is set within 300 acres of beautiful woodland and coastal gardens. The ancestral home of the Marquesses of Bute, this flamboyant sandstone house is widely acknowledged to be the grandest and most luxurious gothic building of the Victorian age to be found in Britain today. Although still a family home, Mount Stuart is open to the public and provides a unique private venue for weddings, parties and corporate events.

The Mount Stuart Kitchen Garden is in the throes of a development programme, which will see an increase in the range and quantity of fruit, vegetable and other food products available from Mount Stuart, throughout the year.

There is an abundance of produce on offer throughout the year, from potatoes, courgettes and carrots, to freshly picked berries and free range eggs. A new addition to our gardens are our bee hives, which should soon be producing Bute Honey.
