eatBute08 - grow :: taste :: enjoy

eatBute08 was organised and promoted by Mount Stuart Trust in association with Slow Food UK and Petersham Nurseries

About eatBute08 - now over

eatBute08 was a celebration of the abundance, diversity and quality of locally-sourced food. We aimed to promote sustainability on the Isle of Bute and surrounding areas of Argyll. In line with the values of 'Slow Food', we want to retain the rich heritage of regional food and drink and speak out against the damaging social, biological and environmental effects of food globalisation.

About Mount Stuart

eatBute08 took place at the stunning gothic masterpiece, Mount Stuart on the Isle of Bute.

Mount Stuart is set within 300 acres of beautiful woodland and coastal gardens, providing a spectacular setting for the event. The ancestral home of the Marquesses of Bute, this flamboyant sandstone house is widely acknowledged to be the grandest and most luxurious gothic building of the Victorian age to be found in Britain today. Although still a family home, it provides a unique private venue for weddings, parties and corporate events.
