Guest Chefs
We were delighted to be joined by the following guest chefs:
Skye Gyngell
Head Chef of Petersham Nurseries in Richmond, Skye Gyngell is one of the most inspirational chefs cooking today. Her refreshing and original approach to cooking yields superb results. Based on the components of her toolbox, Skye's unfussy but intensely flavourful food is inspired by the seasons and produce growing in her own garden.
Skye has previous involvement with Mount Stuart, offering our seasonal chefs advice and cooking techniques for delivering fresh, simple dishes using the very best local produce available.
Rory O'Connell
Rory O'Connell has spent more than 20 years cooking in the world's finest kitchens. Today, he can be found teaching at the Ballymaloe Cookery School, while consulting for other restaurants throughout the country.
His reputation as a food stylist regularly sees him working on photoshoots with other authors, publishers and magazines. Rory's passion for refining not just our pallets, but the way we prepare and cook food, is still his main priority.
Jeremy Lee
Jeremy Lee, Head Chef at the Blueprint Café in London, is renowned for his eclectic style of cooking, which takes influence from Europe and his native Scotland. His passion for great food means using only the best quality produce. This can range from fabulous game in autumn and winter, to tender asparagus in the spring and the sweetest fruits in summer.
His concept for cooking is that you have to do things properly, understand the origins of food and ingredients, but also recognise that things grow and change.
Nick Nairn
Nick Nairn is one of Scotland's most exciting cookery talents and a familiar face to many, thanks to his regular appearances on Ready Steady Cook. He is also a staunch supporter of top quality Scottish produce. Nick's unflagging energy and distinctive style of cooking have ensured the popularity of his TV and radio appearances over the years.
In 2000, Nick established his own event catering business, Nairns Anywhere, which is Mount Stuart's bespoke event caterer. Nick's experienced team at Nairns Anywhere have catered for a number of large events at Mount Stuart, where fresh, local produce has always been top of the menu.
